ENHANCING OFFSHORE SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY WITH INSTALLED ULTRASONIC SENSORS

Offshore facilities operate in some of the harshest environments on earth, facing extreme weather conditions, high pressures, and corrosive chemicals. Given the extreme conditions and potential risks faced by offshore oil and gas facilities, measuring corrosion and erosion rates is an important part of keeping potential problems from becoming disastrous realities. Sensor Networks offers solutions that give you all of the necessary tools to collect frequent data, without the need for manual inspections to ensure the safety and integrity of offshore assets.

A whole new approach to corrosion/erosion monitoring

smartPIMS® 2.0 is the next-generation system for non-intrusive ultrasonic corrosion/erosion monitoring of critical assets. Whether the facility is manned or unmanned, the smartPIMS 2.0 offers flexibility for use in various configuration scenarios. Each multi-point monitoring system can connect up to 16 ultrasonic sensors to provide enhanced coverage of known critical and problematic locations. Data can be collected to webPIMS™ software for databasing, trending, and analysis.

Fast & Consistent Data Readings

Applications where frequent data is required to monitor corrosion/erosion rate issues.

SHORT-TERM OR LONG-TERM CORROSION MONITORING

smartPIMS can be installed permanently or temporarily, allowing for long- or short-term data collection and monitoring.

Multi-point monitoring

smartPIMS multi-point monitoring systems can be used to gain increased coverage of known critical and problematic areas.

Automatic & hands-free monitoring

smartPIMS sensors are designed to take thickness readings at user-defined intervals and gives operators the ability to collect their data without the need for in-person inspection.

2 connectivity options

modbus

Modbus system connects directly to a PC or laptop to take on-demand thickness readings, store them on the local PC in SNI dataPIMS software and optionally upload to SNI webPIMS backend application for databasing, trending, and analysis.

The system can also be wired directly into a SCADA/DCS system for polling at any user-defined schedule. New data can be read via standard Modbus commands and displayed on local consoles or ported to company backend management systems.

datalogger

Datalogger is equipped with an onboard battery and system memory enabling the storage of up to 3,000 thickness readings. The system can be programmed to obtain data on a user-defined schedule and store all the data onboard. Users connect to the unit via DIU adapter and table/PC using dataPIMS software. Data is downloaded and available in XML or CSV (Excel) file format or uploaded to SNI webPIMS backend software for databasing, trending, and analysis.

THE NEW SOLUTION TO NON-INTRUSIVE CORROSION & EROSION MANAGEMENT

Our line of non-destructive corrosion/erosion sensors provide an advanced inspection method; Monitoring. With corrosion and erosion monitoring, asset owners are able to gain further insight into their assets by taking frequent and consistent thickness measurements, without the need for manual inspection methods. With higher quality and quantity data, owners and operators are able to analyze, trend, and correlate corrosion/erosion rates with their processes and make necessary adjustments to mitigate potential problems

INSPECTION vs. MONITORING

Non-intrusive and wireless corrosion/erosion monitoring

microPIMS® Intrinsically Safe is a fully wireless, non-intrusive, ultrasonic corrosion/erosion monitoring system designed to continuously monitor for metal loss in extreme temperatures and environments. Powered by battery, it operates using long-range sub-Gigahertz wireless connectivity. Each microPIMS sensor is programmed to take readings at a user-defined time interval and automatically send data to webPIMS, a cloud-based back-end web portal for analysis, trending, and more.

Use MicroPIMS FOR:

Fast & Consistent Data Readings

Applications where frequent data is required to monitor corrosion/erosion rate issues.

High capacity and long range

Each gateway can connect up to 1,000 microPIMS up to ~ 1 mile (1.6km) range, allowing full coverage of targeted areas in a facility.

Reduce costs

Minimize the use of scaffolding or rope access in high-risk areas that have a history of internal corrosion issues.

Long battery life

Collect thickness data from microPIMS for 15 years at 1 reading per day.

High accuracy measurements

Accurate to 0.001" (0.025mm), providing more reliable data to enhance operations.

Monitoring that is automatic & hands-free

Once installed, microPIMS can take thickness readings at user-defined intervals, allowing for more frequent data without the cost of manual inspections.
