Barshinger

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. James N. Barshinger is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Sensor Networks, Inc. He is one half of the duo that founded this company and continues to make it succeed. Dr. Barshinger is based out of Sensor Network Inc.’s Engineering & Product Design HQ office in State College, PA. Dr. Barshinger, or Jim for short, is not new to the asset integrity, inspection, or testing field that SNI serves. Jim received his Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University School of Engineering Science & Mechanics. This was the first connection to Penn State, which would eventually bloom into the robust relationship that exists now. His doctoral thesis was in Guided Wave Propagation, and he worked under Dr. Joseph Rose as his advisor. The experience he gained here was invaluable, and Jim continues to carry it with him.

Prior to founding SNI, Jim has been working in the NDT and Ultrasound industries with Krautkramer-Branson, AGFA NDT, GE’s Global Research Center and GE Inspection Technologies for 15 years. He continues in his role as president and is involved in company decisions that will only continue to benefit the employees, customers, and the mission of SNI itself.

Jeff

Anderson

President/General Manager

Mr. Jeffrey W. Anderson is the President & General Manager for Sensor Networks, Inc. effective October 5, 2015. Jeffery undertakes this exciting role at our Engineering and Design Center located at our Headquarters in State College, PA. Mr. Anderson is a crucial aspect of SNI’s engineering and design problem solving and he contributes to our goal of direct access to technology by their consumers.

Jeff has displayed a passion for this field since a young age. He graduated from Grove City College with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He has spent the past 31 years in various Engineering, Product, General Management, and Business Development roles. Jeff is an experienced engineer, and he has gained his experience working at various companies such as DuPont, Krautkramer Branson (Emerson Electric), Agfa NDT and GE Inspection Technologies. His experience has given him over three decades working in the engineering field, allowing him to become an industry expert. Jeff leads the manufacturing and global commercialization processes for Sensor Network Inc.’s new product launches. Mark

Feydo

Vice President - Engineering

Mr. Mark Feydo is Vice President of Engineering for Sensor Networks, Inc. and is based out of the State College, PA facility. Mark has been passionate about engineering since he was a teenager, and Sensor Networks is glad to have him. Mark is one of many staff members that graduated from Grove City College with a BS in Electrical Engineering. His experience within NDT and designing industry equipment started at the beginning of his career at Krautkramer Branson – Agfa NDT – GE Inspection Technologies. During 27 years of experience in this field, Mark has engineered many extremely successful products for these companies. He is considered an industry expert, because the solutions that he has designed have brought the entire NDT field forward. The impressive list of notable products that he developed includes the USN 5x / 6x family of portable flaw detectors, the USPC2100, and the Phasor XS.

Mark has extensive experience in hardware and system design, including analog, RF and digital electronics. Sensor Networks, Inc. is glad to have him, and we are excited to watch his career continue to progress, as there is no doubt that he will continue to guide the engineering department into the future.

Steve

Strachan

Vice President - North American Sales

Mr. Steve Strachan has joined Sensor Networks, Inc. as the Vice President of North American Sales. Adding to the numerous members of our team that has lived or studied in PA, Steve received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Penn State University in 2008. Upon graduating, he quickly realized his interest in the NDT industry and maneuvered into the field. After seven years of active participation within the NDT industry, Steve gained an in-depth understanding of the field and his own specific interests within it. Once he realized what specifically interested him within NDT, he tailored his trajectory and involvement to reflect those interests. Steve is able to focus on his primary interest, the Oil & Gas Industry, from Sensor Network Inc.’s new Houston office at 14950 Heathrow Forest Parkway, Suite 370, Houston, TX 77032. Steve’s passion and drive make him an exciting addition to the team, as he’s sure to help our company grow. As a link from Penn State to our offices in Houston, Steve has already expanded our reach across the country.

Supply ChAIN lEADER

Mrs. Marcie Cirota is the Supply Chain Leader for Sensor Networks, Inc. and is based out of the State College, PA facility. Marcie has 25 years of Supply Chain Experience.  Marcie graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering. Her experience within Supply Chain has been within the Sensor manufacturing space starting with Bently Nevada and ending with GE Inspection Technology/Baker Hughes before joining Sensor Networks in 2020.  She has held roles in Quality, Sourcing, Manufacturing Engineering, and   Materials Management. 

Marcie has extensive experience in Supply Chain and Materials Management, including ERP Implementations and ERP Administration (proficient in SAP, Oracle and Netsuite).  Sensor Networks, Inc. is glad to have her.

UT Sales manager

Jennifer Stairs joined Sensor Networks Inc. March 2019 as the North American UT Sales Manager.  Based in the State College headquarters, she is another member of the team who lives and studied in PA.  Jen attended Grove City College for two years and then transferred to Penn State’s University Park Campus where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree from The College of Health and Human Development.  She is an experienced sales leader and has gained experience by her sales leadership roles in the hospitality and pharmaceutical industries.   

Jen is an excellent addition to the sales management team and works closely with the team at SNI headquarters’ and customers.

Alfred

Ng

Vice President - Asia Sales

Alfred Ng is Vice President of Asia for Sensor Networks, Inc. and is based out of our Cyberport Office in Hong Kong. He comes to the table with extensive prior experience, including in the remote visual inspection sphere. Prior to joining SNI, Alfred supported GE Inspection Technologies in various Regional Sales Management roles from 2005 until 2016. Prior to GE, Alfred managed the Asia-Pacific Region for Everest VIT’s Remote Visual Inspection business starting in 1999. Alfred is currently responsible for all commercial activities in the Asia-Pacific region for SNI. Our Asia office is safe in Alfred’s experienced hands as he has already proven himself an expert in the industry and continues to expand his knowledge.

Working for Sensor Networks, Inc. has provided Alfred with the opportunity to expand on the knowledge that he gained at GE and Everest VIT. Alfred has been able to utilize his prior experience within RVI and combine it with his new responsibilities as vice president in order to run all commercial activities in Asia smoothly for SNI. Industry experts such as Mr. Ng are incredibly valuable to Sensor Networks, Inc, and we’re thrilled to have him as part of the team.

Jeff

Drost

Engineering Manager - RVI Products

Jeff Drost is the Engineering Manager of Remote Visual Inspection Products for Sensor Networks. Jeff is a 1986 graduate of the prestigious New Jersey Institute of Technology with a BSME. Upon his graduation, Jeff began working for organizations that would allow him to become highly experienced in the NDT industry. Jeff now has 31 years of experience, but he started in the nuclear industry working for Siemens KWU Nuclear Service Division in ET/UT, no small feat for a recent college graduate. As he continued to work, his knowledge and experience grew, allowing him to become an expert in the field. In 1989, Jeff made a career shift by joining Visual Inspection Technologies as their Engineering Manager. Jeff has held various leadership positions at Everest VIT, GE Inspection Technologies and Prevision Systems LLC where he was President and owner. Jeff’s varied leadership experience worked to prepare him for his eventual role as manager of remote visual inspections here at Sensor Networks, Inc. His managerial skills allow Sensor Networks to benefit as the RVI products become more innovative for our customers. SNI is happy to have him as part of our staff, bringing the remote video system to the next level.

Levi

McCarty

Product Manager - RVI Products

Mr. Levi McCarty joined the SNI team as the Sales Manager of the RVI product line for North America in February, 2021. Today, Levi continues his work for the RVI product line as Product Manager. Like most of the team he grew up in PA and attended The Penn State University. He received his BS degree from The Penn State University College of Health and Human Development in 2017. Levi’s first job out of college was with Ecolab’s’ Institutional Products Division where he was a territory manager including sales, installation and maintenance for 3 years. The position was demanding, but it allowed Levi to sharpen his sales skills and learn some valuable lessons along the way.

The do it all nature of his previous experience puts him in prime position to succeed with SNI. Supported by an innovative product line and a talented team, Levi believes he can take the RVI product line to the next level.

Mr. Jim Treat currently acts as Chairman of Sensor Networks, Inc.’s Board of Advisors. As an industry expert, Jim truly embodies what we love about our company and continues to push our business to excellence. Jim is an NDT-industry icon in the management and operation of successful businesses and an honor to have at SNI. Jim’s strong leadership and managerial skills have been instrumental in developing and building many companies from the start-up phase through their high-growth phases for decades. Included in his long line of business ventures is the founding of Longview Inspection, Inc., a predecessor of Acuren, a prominent global NDT inspection service provider. Well known and respected throughout the NDT industry, Jim is connected with key industry players and is a driving force for progress and transformative change that translates into improved NDT profitability and expanded business opportunities.

Jim is currently President of NDT Classroom, Inc., a provider of non-destructive testing training courses. He is also a partner of The Summit Group LLC, a company specializing in customized management seminars including leadership and project management training and is the Chairman of the Board of Premium Inspection & Testing, Inc.

Ray

General Counsel

Mr. Tim Ray is the General Counsel for Sensor Networks, Inc. and has practiced as a corporate attorney for over twenty years, counseling large and small clients through strategic mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, employment issues and various litigation matters. In addition to his legal background, Tim has served in various corporate positions over the past 12 years. His background is in supporting, developing and building companies both as a C-Level executive and General Counsel. Tim began his career as the COO of Vytek Solutions, a wireless and mobile computing solutions provider, where he was responsible for a 350% increase in sales in a space of two years. He then served as the CEO of Cresta Texting, Inc., a global IT services organization that specializes in the construction and execution of leading QA and testing methodologies. In 2005, Cresta Testing was acquired by a publicly traded, billion-dollar IT service provider. Later that year, he joined Peleton Systems, Inc., an IT consultancy offering Solution Architecture Implementation Services and Support Services to a wide variety of clients, as President and COO. Throughout his career, Tim has driven numerous business-transforming initiatives among struggling and fast-paced companies alike.

Jeff is Associate Vice President for Research and Director of the Office of Industrial Partnerships at Penn State University. In this important role, Jeff is responsible for building strategic partnerships between the University and our industry. These strategic partnerships allow the flow of knowledge between various industry experts, which is a vital aspect of identifying problems and creating innovative solutions. This position was created with the goal of accelerating technology transfer and supporting economic development between the SNI and Penn State. Those who buy products that SNI are as likely to benefit from this strategic partnership as their industry counterparts. Jeff is a key member of the Invent Penn State initiative driving entrepreneurship and economic development in PA.

Jeff received his Ph.D., in Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2001, his M.S., Physics Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1998 and his B.A., Physics, Minor in Chemistry from the University of Southern Maine in 1996. Sensor Networks, Inc. is excited to have him in PA, continuously providing fresh vantage points to the company. He excited to be in this role as well, especially as an active member of the board of advisors.
